I am delighted to be sharing my session with fellow teacher, Tom Pearson. We will be looking at ways in which to incorporate guidance from the EEF's Improving Secondary Science to inform practice. How we have used suggestions in lessons - what worked and what we have learned. I will largely focus on the use of models; Tom is going to look at elaborative interrogation and questioning for memory. Outcomes include ideas to take away and trial including some suggestions for models and how to use them and ways to help students not just to retrieve knowledge but to elaborate on what they know.
I am a former head of science and now lead the Cheshire & Wirral Science Learning Partnership & Computing Hub. I also work part time for STEM Learning, as Coach Lead.
