Self-efficacy beliefs in physics may be used as a measure of students’ perceived capabilities in physics in school. Low participation levels for post-compulsory studies have been attributed to students finding physics a difficult subject to master and considering themselves to be lacking in the perceived capabilities required to achieve well.
